Shree Brahma explained bhakti yog to Narad Muni and assigned the task of disseminating the knowledge: sarvātmanyakhilādhāre iti saṅkalpya varṇaya ‘Propagate the science of devotion to the world.’
Thereafter, Narad made a lofty resolve before Bhakti Devi: ‘Kaliyug is the best age to practise devotion. Therefore, I will establish You in every home and in every heart.’ (Bhagavat Mahatmya 2.13)
In obedience to the divine command of Shree Brahma and to fulfil his sacred vow to Bhakti Devi, Sage Narad wrote the Bhakti Darshan. It is a wonderful exposition of sadhan bhakti (preparatory devotion) and siddha bhakti (perfect devotion).
Comprising 84 sutras, the scripture reveals the glory of divine love, illustrating how bhakti alone can lead to union with the Supreme. The spiritual depth and universal relevance of the sutras is a beacon for all who yearn to perfect their love for God.
